External Demolition – Part 1
The first two areas being demolished are the metal workshop in back of house and the area around the Circle Studio and fire exits just off the foyer on the way to the toilets. These bits of the building are pretty much freestanding and not tied into the historic stage-house and auditorium.
Both these areas have already been stripped out internally and any building connections separated to enable them to be pulled apart using a huge mechanical claw.

Demolition of area around Studio Theatre lift and toilets
In the picture above for those familiar with the building:
- area that has been demolished is the black carpeted area with the ramp in it outside the studio theatre and lift leading the the front of house toilets
- opening bottom left is where the wall used to be into the stalls studio theatre
- the opening straight ahead leads into the bar area
- the white tiled area next to it is what’s left of the accessible toilet
- above that is the opening where the front of house stairs came into the foyer for the Circle Studio
- the area in black over to the top left is where the double doors went into the Circle Studio
